Bundle of Kids' Favorites, A

From Plank Road Publishing

by Teresa Jennings and John Riggio

Each bundle is a group of four favorite Singles Reproducible Kits, tied together by a general theme. These bundles each include four Teacher's Piano/Vocal parts, Reproducible Student Parts, and the recording for each of four tunes on one CD. And these bundles come with the special rights for teachers to reproduce, perform, and use the music with all of their students. Contents for A Bundle of Kids' Favorites are:

  • Dancin' On The Rooftop
  • Of all the movement-oriented songs Teresa has written over the years, this one has probably gotten the most attention. It's set in a swingin' big band style that makes it hard to sit still, and the authentic recording features a real big band complete with a drummer reminiscent of Gene Krupa. (from Music K-8, Vol. 2, No. 4)

  • It's Science!
  • John Riggio's light-hearted ode to science is full of sound effects that will make it a favorite of students... and science teachers! (from Music K-8, Vol. 5, No. 3)

  • Identity
  • This powerful rock/rap tune was first published as a part of the musical Proud. Years later, we are still hearing what a positive impact it has had on young people, reinforcing their sense of self-worth. (from Music K-8, Vol. 4, No. 2)

  • The Comet
  • As any knowledgeable young dinosaur aficionado can tell you, one of the theories about how and why the dinosaurs died out is based on the belief that a comet collided with the earth some 65 million years ago causing widespread devastation. Given all of the recent movies with similar subjects, this tune is very timely. An ethereal mixture of organic sound effects and distant pulses bring this song about that possibility to life for young singers. (from Music K-8, Vol. 7, No. 1)
