Battle Hymn For Gettysburg - Choral

From Plank Road Publishing

adapted/arr. Teresa Jennings

It's a natural union - combining the text of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address with "Battle Hymn Of The Republic" into a piece children can perform. Underneath the spoken text, vocalists use the syllable "loo" for the verses in this 2-part song. The choruses use the actual words "Glory, glory hallelujah!" etc., but since they are so familiar and repetitious, they do not get in the way of the spoken lines. When the lines are finished, the chorus is sung full out at forte, complete with big orchestral accompaniment on the recording. Part 2 enters during the chorus each time and is optional, but it's quite effective if you can use it. It's a steady build from beginning to end, and very dramatic.

Our Plank Road Publishing octavos save you the time spent copying and binding and come in the convenient octavo size (7.0" x 10.25") used by choirs. (Please note: These octavos are NOT reproducible.)
