I use a great lesson plan format that includes the National Standards (a check for me), as well as Bloom's Taxonomy, a "focus" for the lesson, differentiated learning styles, classroom strategies (technology, hands-on, reading/writing, charts/graphs/maps), and curriculum correlation.
