I have an instrument circle I do occasionally with my kindergartens. Instead of passing the instruments, I have the students stand up and rotate to the next instrument. Yes, it's hard to get them to understand where to go next, but as soon as they get it, they love it! They love to get up and move like that. I've even done this with older classes (up to 5th and 6th grade) who haven't done anything with the instruments in a long time and I want to review.
