1. Respect Yourself

(Discussion: Don't make bad choices. Don't put yourself down; everyone has a gift, and we'll find yours.)

2. Respect Others

(Discussion: Their right to speak, their personal space, their ideas, their property, their individuality.)

3. Respect the Property of All

(Discussion: This is where I say, "You can touch two things in the music room: the carpet or your chair (depending on what we are doing) and anything I hand out to you. EVERYTHING else requires permission.")

After teaching for umpteen years, I have not found a violation that doesn't fit into one or more of these categories.
