Jolly Old Canon In D (choral)
From Plank Road Publishingadapted/arr. Teresa Jennings
Based on her sense of keen observation and grasp of the incredibly obvious, Teresa has finally decided to give in to marrying the two pieces, Pachelbel's "Canon in D" and the traditional Christmas tune, "Jolly Old St. Nicholas." The result, as you might imagine, is a lighthearted homage to the old fellow in red, who thankfully has a good sense of humor. Though the arrangement is written with 3-part mixed voicing, allowing older, changing, and changed voices to shine, it could also be used as a 2-part piece, in case that makes Santa more jolly at your school or church.
