Patty,
I developed my own scope and sequence years ago after much research and contrasting and comparing others that I found. Mine is very specific to my situation, and I revisit it every year, aligning it with our state standards as well as tweaking materials that are used. Our school district is having us revise them again this year within a smaller framework. I think it’s a good thing to do but not some thing to expect brand new teachers to have completely formalized before they begin. We don’t all need to reinvent the wheel, but it’s good to examine the wheels that others have created!
