Hello friends!

Do any of you have a scope and sequence that you like to use and refer
to? I'm asking, as this summer I was doing workshops around the state and
almost all of the new teachers were unsure of what to do when. Yes, we have
frameworks and we have the National Standards but what they really were
asking for (and I'm not sure there is such a thing) was a "plan" for all
grades. I tried to explain that we all have different jobs. Some have more
time than others, some have more grade levels than others, and then there
are the cultural and diversity sides to teaching, etc. So, this got me to
thinking as I prepare for my college class on elementary methods. Is this
something I need to do better with the students about to go into field? I
see a lack of self-reflection. I see a desire to use digital programs (don't
want to badmouth them!) instead of thinking hard, thinking creatively,
thinking critically. It baffles me.
