I have thought for years that having a 30-minute board-game time in elementary school would be a great thing. Can you imagine what could be taught?

Taking your turn/patience
Co-operation
Reading
Math
Problem-solving skills
Patterns
How to be a gracious winner and a gracious loser
How to teach others to play the game (learning by teaching, who would have thought? LOL)
Various multiple socio-emotional skills

I would agree that boardgames are making a comeback. I have quite a few of them now. My family is always played board games or card games. I love making games for my classroom as well. My son and I are working on our first game and we think it’s about ready to sub submit it to a publisher. We’ll see what happens!
