Hey there, everyone! I've been teaching guitars (chords only, not picking a melody) for about four years now. I've got a pretty good system down, and the kids seem to enjoy it. I only teach this to 3rd-5th grades.
Anyhow, if you teach guitar, I'll share my Google drive unit with you. Just message me privately -- febingern@joshuaisd.org -- and I'll send you the link. It's not "lesson plans", but rather it shows the chords, then several songs that use the chords in order.
