I am doing Artie's Nutcracker March plate routine for one of my 2nd grade
classes for our virtual concert! I've also come up with some super simple
choreography/movement with jingle bells to "Jingle Bell Parade" from MK8
vol. 26 #2 for one of my 1st grade classes. Pretty much everything else is
instrument-based - boomwhacker play-alongs and percussion play-alongs I
found on YouTube (several from the awesome Musication youtube channel -
they have a whole playlist of Winter Holiday stuff) and "Rhythm of the
Season" from MK8 - vol 22 I think? Issue #2 of course. I am mainly going to
focus on the instrument parts for that song, although there is a rap
section that I might have the kids try if I have time to teach it to them.
Something I was considering for my 1sts was "Peppermint Candy Cane" from
MK8 (don't know the vol. off the top of my head, sorry) - I did that one
several years ago with Kindergarten and had them do some cute choreography
with candy canes while they sang. I thought about expanding the
choreography since I'm not having them sing right now, but then I found
other things that I decided to use instead.
