Subject: Re: [MK8] Suggested Format PK short class

I have had a lot of luck following this rule: "A child's attention span is roughly limited to 1 minute per number of years old." So for 3 & 4 year olds, you're looking at two or three activities per ten minutes. I would try (1) sing a song, (2) keep a steady beat -- there are a million ways to do this, like marching, or tapping knees or noses, or having them do what you do..., and (3) a slow song that they can enjoy simply listening to.

At my request, the PK teacher has allowed me to have daily 10 minute music
classes.
I have some students daily.
I have some students either MWF or T Th.
It's a very young group, ages 3 and 4.
Sometimes I will be able to use the smartboard, but right now I'm looking
for pacing ideas.
