We have a classroom set up the tires, and I don’t teach tablature. First reason would be that I don’t read tablature that well. To be honest, contrary to what real guitar teachers do, I switched last year to putting color coded dots on the fingerboard for where to put fingers. Seems to work pretty well. I get them playing simple 1-2 chord accompaniments much faster than I used to.
