I always take any music I get on iTunes and convert it into the MP3 format, and I've never had any trouble burning CDs with iTunes.

Apparently there was a 7 song limit, but it seems to be gone now.

Have you thought about burning your disk with something besides iTunes?
I've had to start using Windows media player for some reason.....
Works fine.
