Hi Julie:
So sorry you've had to endure this ordeal. Been there. Might the issue be
that the external cd burner is not compatible with your Mac? When this
happened to me I was told that I needed another brand and not the Apple
brand to get my MacPro to get back to burning cds. This was incredibly
frustrating for me and for the teachers who got cds that weren't burned.
I do not use an online support but I do go down personally to an apple
store. This led me to deem my MacPro no longer useful and have purchased a
1Tb IMax. I use an external Apple cd burner and have no problems. But I
honestly wish I bought another MacPro that could burn cds.
So the geeks told me to go down to Frys and pick an external cd burner and
it would work on the MacPro better than the Apple cd burner.
