I do chorus during the day where I am (during recess). If I am not in school, chorus is cancelled. I have a sub in to teach my other classes, but he/she doesn't have to run the rehearsal. The kids then just go out to recess instead (along with the non-chorus kids). Once our May concert is over, I don't continue chorus since we don't have another performance.

If there was a holiday we would sing holiday songs. If it was some other time we might do some pop stuff or things from MK8 and Music Express. We would do more singing games and sight reading activities and we would have song choice day. On song choice day I would use the Get America Singing books. Someone picks a song, we all sing it with the piano, then they would pick the next person to pick and so on. Some days we would get through the whole group!

Long story short: now chorus is during the day. This has brought up issues I have not previously given thought to!
