I have heard of this, but not with silly bands...just with very thin round
bracelets....like they look like pony tail holders made of plastic. So,
while they look like silly bandz, it's not them. Supposedly, if someone
broke that bracelet, it indicated that you'd be willing to do what that
color stood for....and, that's all I know!

I haven't heard this at my school either, but it worried me so much I just
emailed my principals about it! I hope they take it seriously!! They're
not banned at my school, YET! I hope my principals consider it before it
becomes a problem.

I'm not sure about Silly Bandz but an announcement was made at my
school last week that other colored bracelets are now banned - apparently
the different colors represent different "adult" activities & some of the
4th graders were claiming to have participated in such and subsequently
"earned" a bracelet. I remember something like that happening several years
ago. It's a shame because I was considering giving my violin kids a band
for every "task" they mastered, sort of like Recorder Karate.
