When I graduated and was certified in 1997, I tested through the Georgia
Teacher Certification Program. The following year, they went to the Praxis -
I have no idea what they use now. I do know that everyone I talked to that
took the Praxis hated it.
We took our test in a high school with thin walls. There were 8 classrooms
testing and the beginning of the test was a listening/ear training test.
Everyone started at different times within a minute of each other adn trying
to LISTEN was impossible. The friends I tested with all complained of trying
to concentrate with all the tests going on at the same time.I know I didn't
do as well on that section. It was irritating.
I dont' know if they still do the Praxis or not. Seeing Govenor Perdue's
disdain of anything National, maybe not.
