I used this with third graders and they had so much fun!

1. We review Adagio, Andante, Allegro, and Presto.
2. We stand in place by our chairs, and as I click the beat with a clicker (which can be found at pet stores - dog obedience training device) the students tiptoe to the beat.
3. Next, we move to positions around the room so we can try out the tempo while moving.
Stipulations:
A. If anyone is caught purposely running into someone, they have to sit down.
B. Try to stay on tiptoe to hear the beat.
C. Mouths closed except for smiling, of course!
D. When they hear me do a loud beat on the hand drum, they must FREEZE!

Off we went, me clicking and them tiptoeing. It was such great fun and I mixed up the tempos to keep it interesting. Of course, you know their favorite: PRESTO!
