I don't think The Littlest Christmas Tree is too difficult for kindergartners, if you start early enough. For costuming, I had a mother make little green headbands with a yellow star glued on. Then, we added green felt bibs cut in the shape of Christmas trees. (Later in the program I think they decorate the Christmas tree, and it is easy to place the felt light bulbs and ornaments on the felt tree.) The reindeer wore brown antler headbands with brown bibs. The elves had elf hats and vests.
