Easter Bells
by Teresa Jennings
This sweet, simple, lovely tune gives you the opportunity to showcase your young bells players at Easter time. It also has a melody which is singable by just about any age group, which makes it versatile. The bells are not optional in this case, as they are the featured reason for the song.
Before measure one, you will hear a spoken count-off. That way all players will know when to enter. If it's easier to skip the intro and just let players start at measure 5, that's okay, too. The form of the song is also simple, playing through the verse and bridge twice, then the verse one more time and moving on to the coda.
During the bridge, there is an alternate bells part which uses whole notes only instead of the half notes in the regular bells part. Use whichever works better for you, or use both of them, dividing your group into two sections accordingly.
On our web site, you will find PDFs of both extracted bells parts for ease of downloading, as well as a full accompaniment version of the recording that does not include the bells guide track.
