High Low

by Teresa Jennings

This super simple ditty has one purpose: To teach your students to discern between high notes and low ones. While this may seem obvious to most of us, not every kid grasps the concept equally. We have actually had a number of requests to "say it with music." So here you go!

A nice hint for you to share is that both the high and low notes are always Cs in octaves. When they sing the word "high," it's a high C. When they sing the word "low," it's a low C. Easy-peasy.

The piano part is also basic enough to be playable live in class as needed. So you could repeat it, slow it down, or speed it up as you like.
