When I taught band, I used www.jwpepper.com. Fast shipping and they are knowledgeable. I know of two other independent stores - Stanton's Sheet Music in Columbus, Ohio, and Senseney Music in Wichita, Kansas. Pepper has mp3 samples of many of their songs.

I hope this helps! We had our local store - Mannerino's - close hear earlier this year. It was a sad day in Mudville!

Subject: [MK8]store closed!

I have a problem, new to me, but I'm guessing many of you have had it forever! Our 91 year old, "bricks and mortar" sheet music store was first sold to Penders and now closed! IMagine my shock when I arrived at the door yesterday to find the fixtures empty and the lights off! (And me with money to spend, for once.) So I've been trying to figure out, on line, what band music to buy and it's HARD! How do you shop for music when you can't hold it and play it? What do you all do? It seems like every publisher has their own website: a few with audio samples, but many without. HELP!
