I tried this today with my eighth graders. I added Boomwhackers® to "The Baobab" from Music K-8, Vol. 9, No. 5. The vocal part is so simple, all you need is G, A, B, and C Boomwhackers®. I just wrote the notation on a chart and they played it. We used the non-vocal track and added the xylophones to play that part of the song. It's a fun song, and even though my eighth graders are too cool to admit it, they liked playing it. It also covers a national standard, since "The Baobab" is in 12-bar blues form. I am finding more and more uses for those Boomwhackers® every day!
