I have just discovered that "The Turkey Woogie" (from Music K-8, Vol. 14, No. 2) is PERFECT for jazz recorder improv.

BAGED... throw in a Bb, F#, or G# once in a while... kids can just go up and down the tone set pitches or meander... it works GREAT. It could be a very basic recorder tone set, BAGE, or it could include whatever your advanced players canthink of... high E's and D's, etc.

You could overdo it, I think, but having a group of recorders jazzin' it up along with the chorus doing the movements in the B section would be a hoot and the recorders could continue at the repeat.
