I wrote this last year for my kids. You know there just aren't enough pumpkin carols! I know not all of you are in religious schools or settings, so you would more than likely not be able to use the last verse.

"PUMPKIN CAROL" (to the tune of "O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree")
In autumn time
At Halloween
I pluck you from the patch
In autumn time
At Halloween
I look for quite a catch!
I'll take you home
And clean you up
Draw on your nose
And eyes and stuff
In autumn time
At Halloween
You're quite a sight to be seen!
Oh pumpkin squash
Oh pumpkin squash
How orangish is your skin
Oh pumpkin squash
Oh pumpkin squash
Where do I begin?
I'll take my knife
Slice off your top
Then take my spoon
Scoop out your glop
Oh pumpkin squash
Oh pumpkin squash
How messy this sure is!
On Hallows Eve
I put you out
On the porch
Without a doubt
That Halloween
Will be a treat
No tricks for me
I think that's mean!
You shine so bright
With candle light
You scare away
The dark of night
Oh pumpkin squash
You're really neat
My bag is filled
With awesome treats!
Lest I forget
Just who I am
I say a prayer
Before I scram
I ask the Lord
To comfort me
And send his
Guardian angels
To watch as I
Cross ev'ry street
To guide my way
And weary feet
Lord, Jesus Christ
My Savior, Friend
Be with me till
The very end!
