To reinforce pitch syllables and help primary-aged students with lining up, I sing a simple prompt:

"We are ready for the hall, eyes up front and standing tall."
Pitch pattern is:
Do, re, mi, fa, sol, sol, sol (ascending)
Sol, fa, mi, re, do, do, do (descending)

The first nine weeks of school, I sing the song and they repeat the words. Later in the semester, I have them sing the song using the words, then repeat using pitch syllables.
