I do the Pumpkin Stew game/song, but I have the children draw a picture of what they will put into the stew. They add their ingredient, and we repeat the song after each addition, then we put the stew away to "simmer" until the next week. The following week, we have Pumpkin Butter (their cooked stew) on bagels.
