Here is how I play Doggie Doggie:
s = sol/a

  m = mi/f#

Everyone sings: Doggie Doggie where's your bone

  ss mm ss m

Child in middle: Someone stole it from my home

  ss mm ss m

Child hiding: I did!

  s m

Game:

Class sits in circle on floor - pick a child to sit in middle of circle with his/her eyes closed and a dog bone behind his/her back - I sometimes give him/her a stuffed dog to hold. When the child in the middle closes his/her eyes, pick another child to tiptoe and take the dog bone... s/he hides behind my piano. Child in middle must guess who took the bone by the singing of the "I did." I often have a glockenspiel set up for them to play their pitches as they sing their "I did." I do not let them disguise their voices as I use this game to help them with pitch matching. (I often will have the child in the middle and the one hiding echo me and try and get them to match more accurately.)

(I know some people sing the song with a La, but I use it to teach Sol Mi and they also say took instead of stole... whatever floats your boat!)
