Just want to share an idea for using zoo pals. I had the kids K & 1 grade sit in a circle and handed out a different plate to everyone. Each child figured out what animal they had, where it was, and what it did. Here are a few responses form the kids...

Let the kids be the creator of what their animals do. After this, you could have the kids create movements, too.
