When I used Dweller Of The Cave (from Music K-8, Vol. 5, No. 1, also available as a Singles Reproducible Kit), as I will again... I just taught it straight up - as in, "Here, learn this song." The kids loved it so much that I never got any questions or conversation. That would have wasted time they could have been SINGING!!!
However, due to the comment of a friend of mine, I AM prepared for any and all comers on the subject. In Plato's Republic, he wrote the Allegory of the Cave - which I suspect Teresa may have had in mind when she penned this creepy masterpiece. I don't KNOW that, I'm just presuming.
