I made a worksheet that they fill out that looks something like this:
Name: ____________Grade: ____ Teacher: ____________
Song Title: ____________________________Composer/Singer: ____________________________
1. What does the music make you want to do? (dance, march, sleep, cry, run, etc.)
2. Is there a steady beat? Is it slow, medium, or fast?
3. Does the music have a singable melody?
4. Do you like the music? Explain why or why not.
5. How were my listening skills? Circle one of the following for section A and B:
A. I listened all the time I listened some of the time I did not listen at all
B. I was quiet all the time I was quiet some of the time I was not quiet at all
I then pick some from each grade level and display them on a poster in the music hallway. I even fill one out myself and put it on the display.
