For our 9-11 memorial at school, the entire elementary (including our preschool students) went to the football stadium and, with the help of high school band students, formed the letters "U," "S," "A." Students were color-coded in red, white, and blue, as well. During the program, the entire student body sang "The Star-Spangled Banner," "America," and "America The Beautiful."
The community was invited, and the local firefighters and police were honored during the ceremony. It was very moving, and also a wonderful way for students to remember.
