I teach grades K-5. Each grade has approximately 80 kids. I am expected to perform an evening concert once a year for each grade. I usually perform one of the musicals in the Music K-8 magazines with narration and whatever props/costumes are appropriate.

Instead of six separate concerts, programs, and lesson plans, I use the same musical for grades K&1, 2&3, and 4&5. Then, I choose three separate dates. One grade arrives at the school at 6:00 p.m. and performs at 6:15 p.m. The next group arrives at 7:15 p.m. and performs at 7:30 p.m. I have never had a parent with kids in both grades complain that they saw the same musical two times. This cuts my work load in half.
