I use yarn for Recorder Karate belts. After noticing some red and green yarn at the store, I added a Christmas belt. I chose several Christmas songs for them to choose from and upon playing the song successfully, they could add a Christmas belt to their collection of karate belts. If students went one step further and played their piece from memory, I had a little jingle bell they could tie to their Christmas belt. It made their Christmas music sound even more festive!
