I happen to have my lunch at the same time as 4th grade's recess. Once they get to a certain level, they become testers. The kids wanting to take a test contact a tester and make an appointment. They come in together during recess. If the tester passes them, they tie on the belt and mark it on my chart.
So far, they've been tougher than I would have been. They also take the time to teach and demonstrate in a very helpful way. I've been most pleased. All I have to do is stay out of my room when I know someone is coming.
