I'm doing these motions for "Decorate The Tree" from Music K-8, Vol. 17, No. 2 with my kindergarten kids:
- Instrumental introduction and any other time we aren't singing - bob head from side to side on the beat
- 1, 2, 3 - count with fingers
- Come help me - beckon with right hand, left hand, point at self (I got that from someone else on the MusicK8.com Mailing List!)
- On word "shine" - we cross and uncross our arms in a rainbow motion
- Ribbon that you tie - we mime a tying motion
- Way up high - point way up high.
You could probably do more difficult motions with first grade.
