When I was teaching middle school, my students performed Cinderella. I made a carriage by photocopying a picture of an ornate carriage and then making it into a transparency. I taped eight white poster boards together to make one large sheet, and then taped it to a wall. Using an overhead projector, the carriage was traced onto the poster boards. The picture was then glued onto a large sheet of cardboard. Using an Exacto knife, I cut out the design. I traced the design again in black (to make the outline easy to see from a distance) and then decorated the carriage with thick outlines and swirls of silver and gold glitter. I also did cut-outs of horse heads and used fringe as the mane. The horses were "harnessed" together with decorative cord. It looked awesome and was less work than it sounds.
