This choreography for "I Can't Stand Still Under Those Raindrops" from Music K-8, Vol. 6, No. 4 works best with a smaller group of dancers. If you have more students than that, I would suggest having nine or ten of your best dancers with umbrellas in front of the risers to do the choreography. We did this about two years ago, and it was great! I got umbrellas from Fred's, two of each in yellow, pink, blue, and red, and one lavender. (I only had nine to perform the routine.)

Assign numbers down the line. ONES and TWOS will have motions. All other students can just stand still or do their own thing.

  • Turn front hold umbrella at waist (4 beats).
  • Push umbrella open one at a time and keep at waist level (9 beats).
  • Raise over head on count 12.
  • Step right on "I," left foot behind; repeat to "raindrops."
  • Freeze and hold left palm out on "raindrops."

  • Freeze and wipe left.
  • On "ground," ONES turn right, TWOS turn left holding umbrella waist level and scoot backwards.
