During Halloween, for any listening piece that has big dynamic changes, use a picture of Frankenstein for "forte" and a Pussycat for "piano" (F words, P words). I did this with Act III: Symphony by Purcell. My students especially love it when it's loud and scary and Frankenstein pops up!
