I Like My Feet

by David & Anne Ellsworth

Here's a song that allows your younger kids to burst out with energy. March! Dance! Walk! These commands aligned with rock guitars and rhythm synthesizers will get your classes moving. A walking bass line emphasizes the "feet" theme. (Get it? Walking - feet? You can groan if you want.)

All three verses give direction to move, but you might want to talk to your students about what they will have the option to do beforehand. Set some limits about how and where they can go and how energetic they can get. It's all about movement, but you should still be the leader to keep things under control.

At the end of the recording, you will hear some footsteps walking away. One of our kids liked it so much, he left the room still singing along with the steps! You can do this with a kid or two as well, if you like.

Focusing on feet is fun when it's put to music, but what about other body parts? How about knees? Or hands, thumbs, or toes? Use the instrumental track version to change the words and have kids plug in their own lyrics.
