Every Autumn

by John Riggio

It's no secret at Plank Road that John's favorite season of the year is autumn. It's no wonder then that when he writes about this season, his passion shines through. "Every Autumn" is a poetic look at this idyllic season, when school begins and the landscape is ripe with vibrant colors.

The song has some syncopation in it that may look a little daunting. But after listening to the recording, we feel certain your students will pick it up easily. There are also a few divisis in the song, all of which are optional. Older students should be able to sing the divisis, which sound very nice.

The background instrumental tracks are also quite pleasant. Our guitar and bass players were allowed to add improvised lines over their written parts. The results are very tasteful.
