I Hear Those Jingle Bells

adapted by Teresa & Paul Jennings

What a fun arrangement of this classic seasonal favorite! A wee bit slower than your students may be used to, this version of "Jingle Bells" is sung as a swing tune with a big band as accompaniment.

Part I is sung the first and third times and is pretty much the traditional version of the song, though it is our experience that kids have learned it in slightly different ways. Part II is sung the second and third times, as usual for a partner song, and is completely new and silly, but simple to sing.

While you don't need the P/A cassette to perform this tune, you will get a lot more out of it if you do. We have cued the big band part on the piano part for reference. If you play it live, the most important thing to remember is to swing! And don't take it too fast, or your part II singers will have a rough time with the lyrics.

The arrangement for the big band (and strings!) was written by our own jazz specialist, Paul Jennings. Play side 2 of the cassette for your students so they can hear and enjoy the background instrumentals.

Also, when learning part II of the vocals, the cassette can be helpful as a reference.
