Costume Day

by Teresa Jennings

Dressing up in costumes is such a fun thing to do - and not just for kids either! We do it for programs, parties, holidays, events, or just because. One of the most popular times of year to dress up is in October when bats, pumpkins, and vampires are all the rage. But whatever the occasion, here's a song to sing about it!

This jazzy hip hop tune is very simple and easy to learn so that even your youngest can join in. It's mostly unison, except for the call and response section at measure 21. Have your kids listen to ours on the recording to hear how this works, especially when it has a slight overlap in bars 25 and 26. For a little action and movement, add the optional claps that are written on the music at the beginning and again at the coda.
