Have A Happy New Year!

by John Riggio

The new year is a great time to make a new start, to make decisions and attitude changes for the better. And this song is a great way to celebrate it!

"Have A Happy New Year!" is a happy song. No, really! It's a pick-me-up kinda tune if ever there was one, so we feel confident that your students will enjoy singing it. The melody is simple and repetitive, with just a couple of bars of syncopation. The tracks are energetic and fun, and the bridge at measure 13 has a great hook with a soaring halftime feel. We've also included electric guitar solos over the D.S. (couldn't pick just one), and a bell synth guide to help your singers.

The song would be perfect for an end of the year assembly or celebration. It would also work well for the first day, week, or month back from your winter/holiday break as a way to encourage students to do their best in the new year.
