Slick Back Jack

This one is just for the fun of it! It's a great way to get your students up and moving, especially if they do as the song suggests during the chorus. The lyric sheet on page 44 illustrates one interpretation of the suggested movements, but your students are free to interpret them in their own ways.
The background tracks on the P/A Cassette for this one are particularly exciting, as they include a distinctive "big band" sound, circa 1940 or so. If you like, you can take a little extra time to discuss big bands, or jazz, in particular. (For more information, refer to the March/April 1992 issue of Music K-8.)
