Demos Gracias

by Mike Wilson

A Spanish Thanksgiving song? Not sure you can say that. But a generic Spanish "gratitude" song that can be used for the season? Okay, that works.

Here are four Spanish phrases, followed up by their respective translations for your mid-level (and up) groups. In this song we give thanks for our blessings, our families, and our friends. Traditional folk Spanish instrumentation is used for this Spanish waltz, including nylon string guitars, guitarón (Spanish bass guitar), Spanish percussion, harp, and trumpets.

The melody is simple enough. It's unison and sticks in your head pretty easily. This allows your kids to focus on speaking the Spanish correctly. And speaking of speaking, there is a free downloadable Spanish pronunciation guide on our web site for your convenience. (See details on page 77.)
