Question: I have been trying to find an easy musical play for my 4th and 5th graders to perform this spring and have come up dry. Last year we did "I Need a Vacation" which the kids and parents all loved. This year I have previewed many and haven't cared for any of them. Any brilliant suggestion?
Answer: If you've been unsuccessful in finding a purchased program, why not make up your own using Music K-8 selections? I've taught for 15 years and have always made up my own shows. It's easy to do when you have a resource such as Music K-8 to lean upon.
Go through the Music K-8 index, select songs that have a common theme, add script to compliment the theme and, BINGO!, you have a terrific show, with terrific music.
