Two years ago, I rewrote the words to Just One Candle (from Music K-8, Vol. 10, No. 2, also available as a Singles Reproducible Kit) to go along with our Light theme for the school year. It was the closing number for our spring musical. The capitalized words are the words that I've changed.

If I light just one candle
and you light just one, too,
and we pass the flame from wick to wick,
from GOD to ME, THEN you.
And if we keep it going, around the world, you'll see
the world is SHINING with the light
that came from GOD TO me.
With one candle,
LIGHT one candle,
HOLD YOUR candle burning bright.
WE CAN SHINE LIKE STARS IN THE UNIVERSE
HOLDING OUT THE WORD OF LIFE.
If we light just one candle
and pass the flame to you,
all our light would SHINE from place to place,
and we would SHINE there, too.
And when we keep it going,
OUR GOD will show the way
to touch the people 'round the world
by shining night and day!
(ETC)
With one candle,
LIGHT one candle.
HOLD YOUR candle burning bright.
WE CAN SHINE LIKE STARS IN THE UNIVERSE
HOLDING OUT THE WORD OF LIFE.
With one candle,
LIGHT one candle,
AS GOD FILLS the world with light.
GOD'S light.
