There is so much that you can include in a music newsletter. Some ideas:
- Check online for the latest in research as to the value of music ed., etc. - in each issue, be sure and put that in.
- Introduce new faculty members.
- Take a poll of the faculty with a music bend to it (how many took lessons, how many still play, what instruments, etc., etc.) and publish the results.
- List famous composers'/performers' birthdays for that month.
- List the dates for all your concerts for the year.
- Report on the achievements of graduates of your school (selection for All-State, etc.)
- ALWAYS be on the lookout for catchy phrases and quotes that you can intersperse throughout.
- Music In Our Schools Month - history, background, etc.
You'll be glad that you did it!
